August Update on Covid Precautions at the Center

Prior To Confirmation

All students and servers must submit proof of vaccination with at least 2 shots against COVID-19. If the second vaccination of the series was administered more than 6 months prior to day 0 of the course or service period for which the student is applying, a booster shot is required before your attendance can be confirmed.

COVID19 Testing at the Center

  • Students are tested on site on Day 0 at the time of check-in, and servers are also tested on the first day that they arrive for their service period. We require all students and servers to bring FDA-approved rapid antigen test kits for their own . Please bring the complete kit, along with test instructions, to the Center, so that Servers checking you in can help you to follow the correct instructions for the test.  The US Government will provide free test kits; you can apply to receive tests beginning January 18th at covidtests.gov
  • Additionally, student will be re-tested on Day 3.
  • If any student has a positive test at any time after a course has started, that student will be immediately quarantined and will leave the course. We will test all known people who have had close contact with that individual. If we identify additional positive cases, we will end the course early and send all students home. If no additional positive cases are identified, a sign will be posted to inform all students that there has been a positive case.

Masks

The Center now requires that all students use high quality masks. As per CDC recommendations, we now require use of an n95, KN95, or KF94 mask. Please bring at least 4 masks of this type whether you are sitting or serving a course. Use of reusable face masks listed in this article is also allowed. An excellent resource for purchasing these masks is projectn95.org, which does not sell any counterfeit masks. Masks will be required at all times in the Dhamma Hall and dining rooms. You do not need to wear a mask when you are in your own residence or when you are walking outside at a distance of more than 6 feet from others.

As of this date, Dhamma Kuñja is operating at half capacity: students have individual rooms, and meals will be eaten in your room instead of the dining hall.

When traveling to the center, students must use personal transportation or share a ride with a fellow student. In addition, anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 or is exposed to anyone testing positive for Covid-19 within 14 days prior to the start of the course is requested to cancel their enrollment. Although self-quarantine is no longer required, everyone coming to the Center is advised to follow the current CDC guidelines for fully vaccinated people for 14 days prior to arrival at the Center.
